Have a great break everyone! We look forward
to next term, MOA Kluster Awards, Lamb and Calf Day, End of Year Concert and lots, lots more. See you next term!
Megan took these short clips as we tried to make our way to school this morning (6/8/15). Unfortunately we had to turn back to Hawera. Enjoy your extra day at home, stay safe and dry.
Some of the students who at tended the mid-week WOMAD taiko Drummers workshop with the Australian drum group, TaikOz. They used the free passes they received and participated in the drum parade on WOMAD Sunday. They did a great job and had a lot of fun. Well done everyone.
We had our Schoolwide PRIDE Day last Friday (30/1/15). As a school we were split into PRIDE teams and participated in problem solving and team building activities. We had a great day completing the different activities!
With the end of the year fast approaching we are now double jumping branches on our Home Reading Tree. Keep up with your Home Reading everyday, we may even have 'Random Lucky Reading Days' when those who have completed home reading will

Well last week was certainly a busy
week. It was great to catch up with a
lot of Room 14 parents at the MOA Awards and Gala Day. It was great to see a large number of people
out to support the children at our school.
This week we start the 'Skills for Life' programme run by Sport
Taranaki. This is a once per week lesson where students learn a variety of different offense and
defense skills that can be used across a variety of sports. Don't forget, all of our MOA awards work is on our blog, we
have a page dedicated to all of the wonderful work we completed, click on on the page link above and take a look.
The MOA Awards are on tonight. Remember to be at school by 6.15pm for your ride to the Red Carpet! Don't forget formal dress for the evening. Good luck to everyone who made the finals.
Only one more sleep for the MOA awards. Keep donations coming in for the Gala. Bike Safety day has been postponed due to a double booking. Lots on at the moment, keep checking in...
Here is our Calendar Art. We used a green screen as part of our work for the MOA Awards to take these photos. Make sure you order your calendar quick.
Hello Everyone,
Well the MOA awards are finally
here. Tomorrow night sounds like it is
going to be a great evening. I can’t
wait to see if our movies, photos or graphics have won an award. At this stage we are still looking to have
the children travelling in style to the ‘Red Carpet’ in classic cars from
6.30pm from the school car park (unfortunately the weather looks like it might
be against us). I know a lot of tickets
have been sold so get there early. As I
understand it once we are there the children will sit together near the front
with adults behind the children. This Wednesday is bike safety day. I will let you know more details as we find
out. Check in with our blog, as this
will be the first place I put information as I get it. The
final day for ordering Calenders is this Friday, once again I have put
the students Art on the class blog so you can see what they have made. We have used a green screen photo from our
MOA awards work. Get ordering,
quick! Gala Day is this Friday. It always amazes me how a community gets
behind a school for fundraising events like this. Keep those donations rolling in. There is a lot on at the moment so keep
checking in on our blog. It is the
fastest way to let you know what is happening.
This week's Chunk of the week is 'unk.' In the comments below, write a word for the chunk of the week. You will get house points for every comment that you leave. Put your word into a sentence to get bonus points!
Wow, it’s hard to believe that we have made it to the end of another term. This term has gone so quickly, looking back we certainly have achieved a lot over the last 10 weeks. This week we are putting the finishing touches on our MOA award entries, these are due in on Friday to the judges so during the holidays check in on our blog to see samples of the magnificent work that the students have put together. As the holidays are fast approaching it would be great to keep our ‘blog’ current with what Room 14 students are doing during the holidays, so if you have some interesting photos of the things you are doing please e-mail them to me so I can share them on our blog, you never know their may even be prizes for interesting photos! Our homework sheet for this week has been updated on the Homework page above. email photos to: andrewl@opunakeprimary.school.nz
As the term is winding down to an end we are once again
on the search for School Library Books. Could we please
have these all back to school as soon as possible. It would
be great for Room 14 to be the first class to have all of
our books returned for Term 3.

Welcome back to Term 3
Hi everyone, welcome back to Term 3. As always we have a lot planned for this term. We will be hitting the ground running with Fractions, Decimals and Percentages for Mathematics. We will be doing some creative writing pieces, looking forward in time to what we think we will be like in 30, 50 years time.
