Here are our entries for the 'Original Image' for the MOA Awards. We took Mr Lodge's camera for a walk around our school and took photos of ordinary everyday objects we pass right bye without even looking at them. Close up they are extra-ordinary...

Week 6's Chunk of the Week is 'sk' In the comments below, write a word for the chunk of the week. You will get house points for every comment that you leave. Put your word into a sentence to get bonus points!
Well last week was certainly a busy
week. It was great to catch up with a
lot of Room 14 parents at the MOA Awards and Gala Day. It was great to see a large number of people
out to support the children at our school.
This week we start the 'Skills for Life' programme run by Sport
Taranaki. This is a once per week lesson where students learn a variety of different offense and
defense skills that can be used across a variety of sports. Don't forget, all of our MOA awards work is on our blog, we
have a page dedicated to all of the wonderful work we completed, click on on the page link above and take a look.

Wahine Update
We have been reading 'No Safe Harbour' by Taranaki author David Hill. It is a story of Stuart and Sandra, 15 year old twin brother and sister and their survival of the Wahine Disaster on the 10th of April 1968. This has inspired us to look deeper into the events of April the 10th 1968. We are completing research mini studies, writing newspaper articles, using the green screen to take photos of us there on the day. We are even writing and presenting newspaper articles using 'Lifecards' as well writing and filming TV news bulletins as if we were there on the scene reporting the news. Keep checking back to see how we got on.
We have also been using the APP 'Lifecards' to make these newspaper front pages. This is Jazlins, more will follow...

Our Calendar Art
Here is our Calendar Art. We used a green screen as part of our work for the MOA Awards to take these photos. Make sure you order your calendar quick.
Hello Everyone,
Well the MOA awards are finally
here. Tomorrow night sounds like it is
going to be a great evening. I can’t
wait to see if our movies, photos or graphics have won an award. At this stage we are still looking to have
the children travelling in style to the ‘Red Carpet’ in classic cars from
6.30pm from the school car park (unfortunately the weather looks like it might
be against us). I know a lot of tickets
have been sold so get there early. As I
understand it once we are there the children will sit together near the front
with adults behind the children. This Wednesday is bike safety day. I will let you know more details as we find
out. Check in with our blog, as this
will be the first place I put information as I get it. The
final day for ordering Calenders is this Friday, once again I have put
the students Art on the class blog so you can see what they have made. We have used a green screen photo from our
MOA awards work. Get ordering,
quick! Gala Day is this Friday. It always amazes me how a community gets
behind a school for fundraising events like this. Keep those donations rolling in. There is a lot on at the moment so keep
checking in on our blog. It is the
fastest way to let you know what is happening.
